CROSS Harmonization & HPC modelization of FOREST Datasets
ADVANCES FRAME
The propagation core developed in the wildfire virtual trainer ERVIN was used as the basis to develop FRAME propagation model. The code from ERVIN was factored for running over a HPC environment.
After performing first trials on HPC Calendula, significant improvements in execution times were observed when using supercomputing. It is observed that in the course of HPC Calendula executions, propagation core uses the full power of data processing that Calendula provides, which means that during running it employs all of the 16 cores that the server offers.
The FRAME team keeps working on programming tasks and trials so as to improve the algorithms and their effectiveness, as well as to advance in the connection with the user’s interface EMERCARTO and the Open Data sources, and to make an optimized use of the HPC resources.
